  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Peanut Butter Frosting
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 3 Tbsp milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream the margerine, sugars, egg and peanut butter.
  3. Add the baking soda, salt, and vanilla.
  4. Stir in flour and oats.
  5. Spread it in a greased 9″ x 13″ baking pan. *NOTE: Peter’s mom actually prefers to use a 9″ x 11″ greased cookie sheet, but that size pan may be hard to find.
  6. Bake for 17-20 minutes being careful to not overbake.
  7. As soon as you take the bars out of the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the bars and let stand 5-10 minutes.
  8. Once the chocolate chips are melted, spread the chocolate over the bars.
  9. Put the bars in the refrigerator or freezer until the chocolate is set.
  10. Take the bars out of the refrigerator or freezer and top with the peanut butter frosting.
